Album of the week. Propagandi

Propagandi's Latest disk "Potemkin city limits" came into CKUA's library last week. I discovered it today and I have to exclaim

PUNK ROCK IS SAVED

Ok maybe not but only because the mainstream music industry won't be playing this Album.
This is an Album about what punk always started out being, not an image but a stage.

Wonderfull amazing politicle lines, exalent intelagent lyrics over driving simple music.

Take the first track for example it's called " a Speculative fiction" it would be a great radio track with lines like "And while you may stand six full cubits amd a span, we got a shepherds sling and five stones in our hands and the battle of 1812 in our hearts." is that not great. it's canada through and through, why because these boys come from here. Right out of the praries, The same winnipeg that gave us Randy Bachman! Of course you won't hear it because it's got a few of those forign words such as "we'll never Capitulate. We'll take the whole F*&King world down!" though you might still hear it on Public radio because we (CJSR, CKUA) can.

The bio we got for the Album is short and sweet about a quarter of a page and includes such qoutables as "41 minutes of new [songs] about planet earth from three people who just can't believe they have to be here."

It is going to hit your local indi record stores on the 18th of October give it a listen you'l be glad you did.

Punk's not dead but the mainstream will Still light the funeral fire if you let them.
